A new discovery by Verenex On 29/09/2008, NOC announced that the
Canadian Company, Verenex Energy, has made a new oil discovery in the well C1-47/04 a new wildcat well  in Ghadames Basin, the well is located 150 km south west of Tripoli.
An initial production test, of Al-momnyat  and  Lower Acacus Formations  produced th following rates:

A new oil discovery by RWE On 29th  September  2008, NOC announced
that the German Company RWE Dea – North Africa, a party to an EPSA 3 agreement concluded with NOC where  the share of NOC is 68% while the share of RWE is 32% , has made a new oil discovery in the exploration wells (G1- NC-193)   a new wildcat well  in Sirte Basin located around 550 kms east of Tripoli, 150 kms south west of Ras Lanuf.
The initial production testing established an oil flow as follows:

Meeting between NOC and the General Authority for Environment On Wednesday, 17/09/2008 a meeting was held at
the headquarters of the General Authority for Environment, to discuss the coordination and follow-up on the protection and improvement of the environment relating to exploration in the offshore areas granted to international companies.
 The meeting was attended by the Manager of the Environmental Protection Department of the National Oil Corporation and in the presence of the  Secretary of the Committee in charge of the oil sector in the General Authority for Environment and the General Managers and Deputy General Managers of the concerned companies.


The Chairman of NOC meets with the British Prime Minister’s Envoy on Oil & Gas issues Dr. Shokri Ghanem, NOC Chairman met on Wednesday, 17/9/2008
with Mr. Simon Featherstone, the British Prime Minister’s Envoy on Oil & Gas issues and Sir Vincent Fean, the British Ambassador to Libya and a number of specialists in the energy sector. 
During this meeting both parties discussed the activities of British companies operating in Libya, especially in the field of oil and gas and also ways of promoting the special relations between the two countries.

A new oil discovery by RWE On 10th  September  2008, NOC announced that the German
Company RWE Dea – North Africa, a party to an EPSA 3 agreement concluded with NOC where  the share of NOC is 68% while the share of RWE is 32% , has made a new oil discovery in the exploration wells (E1- NC-193) and (F1- NC193) at Area 193 in Sirte Basin (around 550 kms east of Tripoli, 150 kms south west of Ras Lanuf).
The initial production testing established an oil flow as follows:

Procedures for submission of tax returns for Exploration and Production Sharing Agreements
The Administrative Committee of The National Oil Corporation issuedImage its Resolution No 96 for 2008 which approves the procedures for submission of tax returns relating to the Exploration and Production Sharing Agreements in accordance with the General People’s Committee Decision No. 394 of 2007. Article two of the Decision states that oil companies that have entered into Exploration and Production Sharing Agreements with the National Oil Corporation  must adhere to the procedures relating to the submission of tax returns as per the procedures in coordination with the General Administration for Finance.
