Waha Oil Company reports that it has drilled the 6Q1-59 New Field Wildcat well to a total depth of 9,227 feet. The well is located in Sirte Basin approximately 80 km South east of Marada Town. Last Monday July 5, 2010 the Earth Science Society of Libya (ESSL) arranged a luncheon lecture which was delivered by a visiting lecturer Prof. Stephen Flint, Dean of Graduate Studies, University of Liverpool, UK. This lecture was titled (Stratigraphic Prediction: a 21st Century tool in Exploration and Field Development). On Thursday July 8, 2010 AGOCO Oil Company kindly sponsored this lecture and another titled (Structure and Stratigraphy of the Offshore Sirt – a seismic view & possible implications for the opening the Mediterranean) in Benghazi. The second lecture was delivered by Dr. Mark Shann, BP Libya Exploration. |
